Navīna-Śyāma dāsa grew up going to Sunday feasts at the former ISKCON temple in Cleveland, Ohio and then later in Laguna Beach, California. He is a disciple of HH Bhakti Charu Swami and the author of over a dozen Back to Godhead articles. He completed his undergraduate education at Stanford University, his Bhakti Shastri (and half Bhakti Vaibhava) training on site at the Mayapur Institute, and his law degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, where he graduated first in his class. He has taught at the Bhaktivedanta Academy in Alachua as well as the TKG Academy in Dallas, where he currently resides. After clerking for a federal judge, he spent a decade as a civil trial attorney for the federal government, first prosecuting cases against employers for safety and wage violations with the Department of Labor, and then defending lawsuits brought against federal employees with the Department of Justice. He currently serves on the board of New Vrindaban, where his wife grew up.
